Principles On Vital Signs
Principles on vital signs
Good Day
Vital signs are the important data gathered in the patient in order to have initial assessment on the condition of the patient and provide appropriate medical intervention.
What to measure in Vital Sign:
Blood Pressure - Cardiovascular system specially the heart is being assessed and the flow of blood. Increased blood pressure might result to rupture of small vessels in the brain (rupture cerebrovascular aneurysm). Immediate control of the blood pressure is necessary and vital.
Respiratory Rate - Lung function is measured in this assessment. This is the most vital assessment since the triage prioritize air and breathing. Problem with airway might lead to sudden death of the patient since oxygen is the fuel for the cells.
Pulse rate - It measures the function of cardiovascular system and blood flow. Increased pulse rate means, the heart pump blood in a faster rate without allowing its muscle to relaxed and oxygenated which could lead to myocardial infarction.
Temperature - It assess if our body have infection. Increases temperature increases to food supply to the cell to fight against infection. And a lot of factors contributed in increases in body temperature.
Hope it helps....=)
